Where is your studio? How long have you had your studio here? and if you share it, what do your studio mates do and how else does working alongside other artists help you?
My studio is located on the 4^th floor of the Bussey Building. I moved in here in February 2015. I share it with Silvina; she upcycles vintage clothing.It helps to have some company, we were very good friends before sharing the studio, it is nice to have people around, as working for yourself can be very isolated.

Tell us about your practice: How did you get into it and what do you love about it? What’s the most difficult part of the process?
I set up Chocolate Creative back in 2009 as an outlet for my creativity. I am a graphic designer by trade, and I studied Fine Art at University. I was missing the craft and handmade element in my work. I love screen printing and designing products. I love all aspects of running the business, you have to wear different hats and have learned a lot over the years. Being creative is not enough to success, you have to have a business minded attitude and persevere during the very tough times you will encounter in your entrepreneur journey. I find logistics to be the most complex part of the business, as you don’t have much control over it.

How do you feel about being part of the first Peckham-wide open studios as part of Peckham Festival? What is the best part about being part of a wider open studio event with so many other creatives?
I am truly excited, I have lived in this area for over 15 years, and it’s great to be part a creative industry in my local area and makes me very happy. I think it is the beginning of a very good thing! and taking part all together is even better, and we will create a momentum for Peckham.
