Extraordinary Bodies

Extraordinary Bodies is a company of actors, musicians, circus performers and storytellers that make shows for everybody, with a number of their artists being D/deaf, hearing, disabled and non-disabled. They are coming to Theatre Peckham to share their performance skills and learn what it is like to live Peckham in 2017.

They are looking for people to take part in a creative exploration workshop, where participants will experience integrated performing arts such as circus (including aerial work!), dance, storytelling and drama.

Extraordinary Bodies are looking for local stories as inspiration for their new show  What Am I Worth. We are living in a time where our diversity of identities around ethnicity and disability are seen as a threat. Through the workshops, Extraordinary Bodies hope to understand what people think their value is in society now and how they would like their own worth recognised; an exploration of the myth of scarcity . They are hoping to meet through the workshops new artists and budding creatives who can find progression routes locally and connect people up with integrated circus practise.

Participants must be able to commit to three full days of workshops between Wednesday 13th – Friday 15th September. If you would like to apply to take part please contact us.
