Golden Mile is a photographic exhibition in collaboration with Peckham Pictures. If Peckham Rye station is the heart of this south London neighbourhood, Rye Lane is it’s often clogged main artery. This stretch of road is in the midst of a resurgence having once been a major shopping destination in the first half of the 20th century known as the “Golden Mile”. This series captures the small dramas that play out everyday around this constantly changing street. Street scenes are complimented by portraits highlighting the mishmash in styles warn by people passing through Rye Lane, a reflection of the myriad of personalities crammed together toe to toe on the pavements, from all-in-one camouflage tracksuits to medieval gothic outfits.
