Loraine Rutt

An exhibition of new porcelain work in response to a craft and literary collaboration with TIDE Project* researchers Dr Lauren Working and Dr Emily Stevenson, inspired by the rare 16th Century Molyneux Globes at Middle Temple library, and travel texts from the same period.

Parallel to the concurrent exhibition at Middle Temple, Loraine’s studio show combines ceramics, academic narrative and facsimiles of the 16th and 17th Century books exploring globe-making, literary networks and luxury goods in Tudor and Stuart London, and invites the viewer to consider the geopolitics of travel and trade.* (Travel, Transculturality, and Identity in England 1550-1700)
