Bob Stone studied painting under Dennis Creffield at the University of Brighton, gaining a BA Hons 1st class, followed by an MA at Chelsea College of Art.
His work conveys the underlying importance of drawing within the painting and the importance of a physical apprehension of the subject. The work has concentrated upon landscapes in Languedoc. The auto suggestive nature of drawing and painting are like the chance fissures in the rock that suggests the animal. His work has been mentioned in ‘Modern Painters’ and ‘The Times ‘and has received a number of critical essays by Julian Bell, Dr Michael Paraskos and Professor Michael Tucker.
