Hot Desque Art Workshop

Gardeners' New Worlds

Come to Peckham Levels, LEVEL 5 for Gardeners’ New Worlds, a child-friendly, drop-in workshop where participants are asked to get imaginative about the future of community gardens. Using all biodegradable materials, such as flowers, salt dough, egg shells, and papier-mâché, we’ll build the garden of the future together.

During the workshop, there will also be the chance to get involved making a collaborative DIY film which will bring the garden world to life. Animating the models through sound, characters and narrative let’s speak to/for/with the plants and animals and tell their story. This film will be screened alongside the artwork we create at Peckham Levels on Sunday 9th October, 2pm – 3pm.

The workshop is open to all ages, is guided and is free to attend. All materials are provided and you can contribute as much or as little as you’d like. Small children should be accompanied by an adult. No pre-booking required.

This workshop is part of the wider Gardeners’ New Worlds project, organised by artist duo Hot Desque and curatorial collective Shed Project, kindly supported by Great Big Green Week.
