Mohamed Gueye and the Begue Begue Drummers

Keen local drummers will have heard of Mohamed Gueye, the expert percussionist who teaches Sabar and Djembe drumming at the Copleston Centre. Mohamed comes from a family of Sengalese griots – lively performers who combine storytelling with poetry, history and music. Surrounded by rythm-makers since childhood, Mohamed brings his rich family traditions, exciting technical skills and dynamic, beautifully layered playing to the Festival for the first time.
Part of the Live at Copeland Park event.
